Current Volunteer Opportunities

Chatline Program

The Chatline Program is a newly introduced program to CPAF, in addition to the 24-hour crisis hotline. This platform provides a space to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through an online chat box on CPAF’s website. Chatline volunteers are trained to respond to messages through the online chat platform.

Language Need: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai


Commitment: 3.5 hours of Decoding Language and Cultural Training; 2 hours of Chatline Orientation; 2 hour shifts available weekly or monthly, Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM 

Volunteer Hotline Counselor

Volunteer Counselors are trained to answer calls coming in to our 24-hour crisis hotline including providing referrals, emotional support, and trauma-informed care to callers.


Commitment: Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Advocate Training; 3 hours of hotline orientation & shadowing; 2 hour shifts available weekly or monthly, Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

 

 

Language Bank Volunteer

Volunteers are trained to provide interpretation for mono-lingual or limited-English speaking clients, and to translate service agency forms or documents. Volunteers also help CPAF create or translate campaigns into API languages such as our “Love is…” campaign for Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.

Language Need: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese


Commitment: 3.5 hours of Decoding Language and Cultural Training; regular remote and/or in-person availability

 

 

Outreach & Events Volunteer

Volunteers help staff information tables at community events, plan or host volunteer & donor gatherings, canvass neighborhood businesses, connect CPAF to in-language media outlets, create or write social media & online content, and much more!


Commitment: 2 hour outreach orientation; 1-2 volunteer hours per month

 

 

 

Child Care Volunteer

Volunteers help provide childcare at CPAF’s shelters. They spend time reading, drawing, and playing–following the child’s lead and engaging their interests! Child care volunteers play a critical role in supporting children who have experienced loss and trauma.


Commitment: Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Advocate Training; 2 hour shelter orientation; 2-4 hours monthly on weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends

 

 

Digital Advocate

Volunteers follow CPAF’s social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, and they regularly share content and calls to action with their personal networks. Got an idea for a blog post or art work related to healing, justice, domestic violence, sexual assault, or self-care? We’d love to share it via our platforms!


Commitment: Follow or like CPAF’s social media accounts; 15-20 minutes weekly

Group Volunteer Opportunities

Donation Drives

Gather your colleagues, family, and friends, to collect items that support survivors and their families, as well as CPAF’s programs. Click here to view a list of our current needed items.

Annual Service Days

Have a corporate or community service day and need a non-profit partner? CPAF works with groups to propose special one-day volunteer projects that support survivors.

Remote Volunteering

We have remote volunteering opportunities where you can make a difference in the day-to-day of our survivors and their families. Contact us for more details.
